Ingredients
Here are two fancier versions submitted by Al:
Dollop of butter
Coarsely chopped onions
Pinch of finely chopped garlic
Mushroom slices (fresh or canned, drained)
Isaly’s Original Swiss Cheese (or Hot Pepper cheese)
Salt and pepper
Pita bread (warm)
Healthy helping of Isaly’s Chipped Chopped Ham
Directions
- Melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions, mushrooms and garlic
– Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste
– Add Isaly’s Chipped Chopped Ham and sauté slowly
– Cut warmed pita in half. Split into two pockets
– Layer bottom of pockets with cheese; fill with onions, mushrooms and ham.
– Add second layer of cheese – and open wide!
Optional:
– Add Dijon mustard or horseradish, or
– Scramble an egg over the mushroom, ham and onion mix (Al’s favorite)
